Miranda Salmon

I have been a ‘maker’ for most of my life, loving the process of designing and creating something that will be both useful and pleasing to look at.

For the last 20 years I have specialised in furniture and timber items, enjoying the combination of the natural form of the wood and the technical process required to create a piece that fulfils its function.

Much of my work is by commission, where I work with my clients to produce a piece that matches their needs and the environment where it will live. I believe working together with clients is an important process of taking time to explore what is wanted and how best to create it.

I also enjoy creating individual pieces for exhibitions, which provide an opportunity to experiment more freely with texture, form and colour.
